Reserve Analyst-Don McGray
Don is the owner of Next Step Solutions, a current HOA board member, and a former Certified Financial Planner (CFP) who understand long term planning issues and saw similarities between financial planning and reserve study long term planning. Don felt many of the current reserve study formats were very complicated and hard to read and understand. As a result, Don built a new reserve study format that is easy to read and understand and has a completely different layout than other studies.
Don has over 20 years working in various capacities on HOA boards (President, Vice President, and Treasurer), and currently serves as Treasurer on 2 HOA boards within his community in Huntington Beach.
Don has over 30 years of experience in both the corporate and military world. His career includes 15 years as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and 20-year corporate career holding management roles in banking, physical and corporate security, and corporate training.
Don spent 32 years in the military reserves (Texas Air National Guard and the U.S Air Force Reserves), retiring in 2007 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Don and his wife moved to Huntington Beach, California in 2014 to be near his daughter’s family and be good role models for their young grandchild.
